Works great! Used with GPS on recent flight, not as good as some of the expensive PDA flight maps but for the price it cant be beat.

I really have pleasure of the possibility in having different maps for
same region. For example in flying I can switch between AeroMaps and RouteMaps
which performs a comfortable way of following maps in my ULM trips !!!

Fantastic. The program looks fantastic. I've been an Army helicopter
pilot for 30 years and still fly in the WV ARNG. I'm extremely impressed
with what you've done. As a computer expert and a 3,000 hour military
helicopter pilot, I congratulate you on what you have done. Again, I think
you have done a very good job with what you have accomplished so far and
I would like very much to see only slight improvements made. I also hope
that you make plenty of money from this project. I will show my setup
to all who are interested. Thank you.

I have been reviewing you "Fly" program, and really like
it thus far. I am an Army Aviator, and I fly CH47s. I have really enjoyed
playing with it. I have been looking for such a program ever since I got
my pilot, and they just don't exist.

Fly is a great program. I read the other testimonials and they convinced
me I should give it a try. This program has allowed me to save money because
I was going to buy a handheld GPS unit with an aviation database, but
I will use this instead. Thanks for your work.

I bought this morning your "Fly" Software, a really great
thing. I have tested in last weeks Handmap, Mapviewer and some other products.
But "Fly" is exactly the software I need when I fly around.
As a Microplane-newbie I feel much more secure in the air. Especially
because I have in Fly the possibility to use
instead of ICAO 1:500.000 maps the 1:200.000 topographic maps of
Germany (of course in combination with ICAO paper-maps...). Great stuff!

Fly: Just entirely too cool. It took me about 2 minutes to enter a
flight I have planned for tomorrow afternoon from San Jose to King City
and back again.

As an about-to-solo student pilot, Pilot user, and programmer, I want
to let me know how incredibly excited I am about your flight planning
software for the Pilot. You've got a great idea and are doing an excellent
job of executing it

Hey there.. Used the Fly this weekend, whilst in the air.. I LOVE using
it to verify my routes and such.. Good Program! I must say that this is
a great program that fills a need!

It's the most useful software
I own for flying and navigating. Whether my palm is connected to
my magellan or my delorme, i get great input and position awareness.
and I use it to check my own personal navigation which keeps my confidence
high, reducing the worry and the work load on long trips. Thanks for the
great product.

I've found Flying Pilot V4.1 works very well. I'm using it on a Palm
IIIc with a Garmin GPS 12 unit. The moving map display is very good -
there are no maps provided with the program, but the idea is you scan
your own in (via PC and scanner). I've scanned a 1/2 mil UK aviation chart
covering approx 180 miles by 100 miles at 120dpi and it uses approx 3.5Mb
of palm memory. This gives me a great 256 colour moving map display that
scrolls very smoothly, is very accurate and reliable. The flight planning
portion of the program is fairly basic but works well, I've found that
selecting/creating waypoints via the moving map display is far better
than trying to use a database of pre-made points.

This program is unbelievable. I love the zoom reference you added
to the map mode. Being able to add information to airport entries is just
perfect, and the runway diagrams are super. You have really done an outstanding
job. Congratulations! I showed it to the guys at the flying club and they
were very impressed.

Flying with Fly:
GPS Pilot offers a low-cost alternative to advanced hand-held GPS systems
by Don Maxell p35-37 Kitplanes, February 2005.
[...]
The ability to use sectional and other aviation charts as moving maps
makes Fly the most elegant of all handheld GPSs-because there's no layer
of abstraction between what you see in the GPS and the paper chart.
What you see IS what you see! Ah, but what if you LIKE abstractions? Press
a hard button on the Palm and Fly will display your course only, without
a map. To either of these displays you can add various additional details--airports,
VORs and NDBs, cities, and personal waypoints. It couldn't be simpler--or
more elegant. And it costs only $69.95. [...] (more...)

Product roundup: PDAs In The Cockpit by Denny
Arar, January 2003.
A product from French developer GPS Pilot lets you use map data —
either supplied or from an attached GPS device — to produce the
type of information you get from a dedicated GPS unit costing hundreds
of dollars more than a Palm. With the $80 Fly 5.05, you input your waypoints,
aircraft and wind info to get maps, distances and estimated time en route.
The software supports GPS input, too. Fly is one of several mapping and
GPS products for Palms from this French software developer, so check out
their Web site.

I can not fly without it anymore :-)
Have PalmPilot, Will Travel by
Don Maxell, August 1999.
Fly combines GPS moving map navigation with flight planning, which
almost eliminates the need for a separate flight computer. The result
is both simple and intuitive - it does just enough. Also, there's no thick
manual to study, and it works with any GPS having NMEA output. (more...)

software for the Palm Pilot, 1998, Vol 5, No 5
Not only will you get you a GPS that can be used with your Pilot,
but it will also make your Pilot work as a GPS, albeit only for land based
travel. But for airborne travel, the Fly GPS is great. (more...)
