Module: S.M.S

The S.M.S module enables partners’ location monitoring via SMS transmission. this is a two-way communication which allows the user to gather partner’s location on demand as well as sharing current location with partners

Due to technical limitation the SMS functions are restricted to the Windows Mobile 5 version of the Tracker software.

The SMS function allows partners’ location monitoring via SMS transmission. Tracker has two-way communication which allows gathering partner’s location on demand as well as sharing current location with partners.

The SMS function requires first the initialization of the phone, and then the transmission of your current position or reception via SMS can be done.

Initiliazing the phone

Under the Preferences option, select the Options tab and enter a valid phone number in the SMS num field.

Transmitting your current position via S.M.S

There are 2 modes of SMS transmission.

SMS can be automatically sent at certain interval of time. In this case, initialize this Automatic mode via the Preferences option. In the Preferences screen, select the Timers tab and enter a time interval to send your positions. Click the check box to enable the automatic transmission.

You can send manually your position via SMS by selecting the main menu option SMS→Send Position

Reception of your partner's position

You can also gather partner’s location on demand by sending a position request. To do this, select the menu option SMS→Ask. .

Once the system receives a position SMS of one of your partner, the system will store the location on POI. The POI is named after the SMS phone number the POI position will be updated in real-time at the reception of each new SMS emitted by the smartphone phone number.

Partners POI will also be visualized on maps and will show each partner real-time moves.
